WiscVPN (Mac) - Downloading and Installing the VPN Client
This document provides WiscVPN download and installation instructions specific to Macintosh OS X.
To install the VPN client perform the following:
- Point a web browser to the Campus Network Services VPN Page http://www.doit.wisc.edu/network/vpn/index.asp
- In the "Installation Directions and Downloads" table, locate Mac OS X. Click Download.
- If you are running Mac OS 10.4 or above, click on the "Mac OS 10.4, 10.5" download link. The file size is 14.4 MB. If you are running a previous version of Mac OS 10, click on the "Mac OS 10.3 or older" link. The file size is 10.7 MB
- Safari will offer to mount the disk image file (.dmg) automatically. Other web browsers may prompt you for what to do with the file: save it to the desktop or another location where you can easily find it. Once the download is finished, locate the file and double-click it to mount the disk image.
- In the CiscoVPNClient window, double-click Cisco VPN Client.mpkg to start the client installer.

- Click Continue on the Welcome screen to start the installation process.
- Read through the Software License Agreement screen and click Continue. Click Agree to accept the license and install the client.

- In the Select a Destination screen, the installer will show you the available drives where you can install the software. Click on the drive you want to use and click Continue.

- Click Install or Upgrade to continue installation.
- Enter your password and click Ok.

- The installer shows you its progress as it installs the client.
- Once the software is successfully installed, click Close.
The WiscVPN client is now installed. Open your Applications to launch it. See the following document to connect: WiscVPN (Mac) - Connecting through VPN.
