Learn@UW - How to Attach an "orphan" Course Offering to a Template

This document is for Site Administrators only.

This document describes how an administrator can attach an "orphan" course offering to a course template.

Problems will likely arise if a course offering is not attached to a course template or "orphaned":

• The course doesn't show up in Manage Courses
  or
  
• You receive an error when attempting to access Course Info.

1. Select the DOME tool.
2. Open Org Unit Editor and then By Type.
3. Open the type Course Offering.
4. Scroll down until you find the course offering you need to attach to the template.
5. Write down the org unit id number (the number in parentheses behind the course offering name).
6. Open the type Course Template.
7. Scroll down until you find the template that the course offering should be attached to.
8. Select that template so that the list of offerings attached to it appear on the right side of the page.
9. Click the Add Child Org Unit link.
10. Select Existing Org Unit in the dialog box and click Next.
11. Select Org Unit Id in the dialog box and enter the org unit id number (from step 5) in the appropriate box.
12. Click Next in the dialog box and you are done.
