Learn@UW - Configuration Variable for Gradebook Import Control

Importing a Grades .csv file into a gradebook is controlled by the DOME variable NumRecordsPerImportStep found under Config Variable Browser -> All Variables -> Tools -> Grades -> Import .

The setting of NumRecordsPerImportStep controls the number of grades that are imported at a time when you import a .csv file of grades.

The variable provides a means for efficiently importing grades while avoiding performance problems so that the import procedure won't time out while trying to to import too many grades at once. If set too high, the procedure may time out. If set too low, the procedure will run slower than necessary.

If you experience timeouts while importing grades it is recommended that the value be reduced. Recommended values are in the range 100 to 200.
